Prior Art Patent Search

Orbit Motion Systems (OMS) designs and fabricates customized automation equipment for manufacturing. As part of their research and development effort for a new product, they contracted The Blue Ocean to help them with due diligence to better understand the intellectual property claims of other devices in the relevant prior art.

The Blue Ocean visited OMS to inspect the operation of their new system, learning the nuances of its functionality. From there, we compared the key properties of their design against other patented devices in that realm, issuing a report on the claims of each patent.

With a better understanding of the existing prior art, the OMS team could confidently proceed with their own product design.
